NEVER buy a computer online- EVER!!!!

Just so you know. Don't do it. And NEVER buy an HP. And Vista = SUCK.

Computer that is supposed to simplify your life and be a multimedia master: $2,500.

Time spent talking to tech support in a different country: never ending.

Annoyance with not being able to watch a flipping DVD on a multimedia computer: also seemingly sans ending.

Costco's 90 day return policy that has never been over-turned: priceless

I have only ever bought Gateway or Dell online; I've had great luck with them, but I have heard stories similar to yours for any other brand.

Dude, you shoulda got a Dell! Vista Ultimate works sweet for me on my 5-year-old Dell and on my 2-week-old Nico.

Yup. HP is bad. Grrrrrr...

Not a happy em-bear. The biggest sucky thing is that until we get it fixed, we can't even watch a damned dvd on the computer, so I can't watch movies on leave possibly. This is NOT good!

I'm sure Dyl can get it fixed (and/ or persuade the tech help to help him get it fixed), or if all else, we can call the geek squad or something or go back to XP, but still, it's such a pain to deal with this!

You're certainly welcome to watch them at our place while we're gone. Feel free to water the plants as well! ;)

yeah, i've heard that Dell online are good to go. if you need to hire someone to fix, my brother-in-law (meg's husband) might be cheaper than geek squad -- just lemme know if you want to contact him!

otherwise i'd say RETURN that bitch and get a portable dvd player in the meantime for leave. and you are welcome to watch movies at my house during our similarly-timed leave!
