The year of the house
I found out a little bit ago that, pending inspection, we just sold our house after being on the market since Monday and got almost 97% of our asking price. yay! Not bad considering it's November, a month not known as being good for sellers.
But it's going to be hell getting through the rest of the day! I want to look at other houses, find dream house, find out price...cry...look again..repeat....we're looking at houses tomorrow and hopefully we'll find something so we can get this whole party started and potentially have a house by x-mas. Or i'm hoping, at least by the end of the year. Then 2005 could truly be the year of the house for the Leingirlz3.

Rock on, dudes! All that hard work really paid off. Let me know when we can help you move. Oh, crap! I'm out of town that weekend! ;)

Thanks, SCT! Rather crazy indeed, but it seems likely that the inspection won't show up anything weird--we already did a truth in housing inspection and that went well.
Eeek! :)

Just don't tell them about the bodies that you stashed in the crawl space, and everything should be okay. Oh, and get that S & M bondage room all cleaned up before you move.

How do you think the house sold so fast?

Oh Jege, Dyl totally packed up all the S&M stuff weeks ago. That stuff is expensive and you know how the mistress gets pissed when her things are messed with! That sling was a bitch to take down tho.
hmm, tough call, Nick. I think it's because we just kick so much ass and they could sense it...feel it, just by walking through the house, ya know? or maybe it was just really good timing and having a good realtor. They wanted to buy b4 x-mas and were looking at some other houses, ours came on the market and honestly, it's pretty cute and in a lot better shape than most houses in that area. So probably, we just got lucky.

Good point.
Also, it just shows how weird the Portland housing market is; I've never even heard of anyone not getting asking price out here, even in winter (hah! winter in portland...that's a good one!). In fact, frequently there are bidding wars and the house goes for more than the asking price. Evil, evil, evil.

I was talking w/ dad and he mentioned something about Portland houses being about half the price of Minneapolis houses. I asked him what the hell he was talking about until he clarified which Portland he meant.
I think Mpls is definitely less creepy than Portland OR in terms of housing. This is probably due to the fact that we do have an actual winter here though. Really, moving between November and February isn't just a bit peevish, it could be absolute hell, depending on the weather. People know this and just don't want to deal.

thanks for the love, jege. although "back" might not be the most accurate term. law school is really kicking my ass this semester.

There really aren't enough people who post every day with fun things to read. I think i'm down to like 2 for my daily amusement. This is just not good enough. Thomas really needs to get his priorities in order. How else is he going to become the wacky water cooler lawyer? It'd be sooo much better if he had his blog groupies cheering him on.
Hang in there, Jim! I finished my MS a few months ago and fuck, was that a stress-filled era.
