except it's oddly enough, Ash Wednesday....we found this out ONLY because we went out for Chinese New Year--(GO COCK!!!) last night and there were these people with ashes on their foreheads...so we're with some Chinese co-workers and they were a bit confused (not Christian) and it took a bit to realize what was going on really until Dyl was like, oh, it was Fat Tuesday yesterday, it's Ash Wednesday today. umm, yeah, then we tried to explain what that day was and honestly, it involved something about lent leading up to a day with a rabbit. umm, yeah. In confirmation, we spent more time asking philosophical religious questions (a la Bart Simpson) and our pastor was cool and excited we actually thought about something or cared, so he happily answered them (had some campus lab school kids in my class--go campus!) So the whole reasoning behind most Christian holidays continues to elude me.
